Boston Institute of Soccer - Be Great at One Sport, Not Good at Many!

MARC HORDON

Founder of:

Since Marc was young he has had a tremendous passion for helping others. Involved with community service since he was nine years old, Marc has worked with disadvantaged children, built baseball fields for local towns, and coached and volunteered as a baseball, football, and hockey clinician.

Matriculating to Phillips Andover Academy and then Harvard University, Marc’s passion was to play professional baseball, and his 90mph-plus fastball had him as one of the nation’s top prospects as both a pitcher and positional player.  Setting multiple Massachusetts high school passing records yet to be broken at Phillips Andover, Marc was also recruited by most of the top 25 Division I college football teams in the nation. Battling injury throughout his career, however, turned fatal to his professional aspirations in college as he tore his left labrum, and shortly thereafter his right labrum, requiring 3 surgeries over 4 years.  Although his career at Harvard was efficient, earning league-recognized awards, it was short-lived as his arm never fully recovered from surgery.

Marc’s attention then turned to the cause of these injuries.  He discovered that his muscular conditioning and nutritional habits ultimately led to not only his injury, but also to his inability to recover from the surgeries.  When Marc was first introduced to Renegade Training and Nutrition Management he was in the last years of his recovery from injury and it proved to be too late to resurrect his professional potential. Thus, he turned to educating and training the populous, focusing his efforts on aspiring high school and collegiate student-athletes.  He is now a happy and healthy athlete competing in a local semi-professional baseball league.

As one of the up-and-coming Massachusetts-based Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Marc’s efforts have led to great strides in injury prevention and maximizing athleticism for people of all ages.   Marc’s training, education, and community service background have proven to be extremely influential as he has become one of the most sought-after elite Strength and Conditioning Coaches in the Greater Boston area.

Marc has opened Elite Baseball Training Centers, with Chief Consultant Mike Freire, and a Football Training Center, with Chief Consultant Yann Kumin, in the Greater Metro Area.  The Boston Institute of Football is located in Boston’s Historic North End, and the Boston Baseball Institute has locations in both Boston Metro West and Metro North. Marc continues to grow the Boston Sports Institutes with the Boston Institute of Soccer, with Chief Consultant Jordan Collins, and the Boston Softball Institute, with Chief Consultant Erin Learoyd.  Marc’s athletes are performing at extraordinary levels all through the state at both the high school and collegiate level.

JORDAN COLLINS

As a former multi sport collegiate athlete, Jordan Collins has merged his unique hands on approach towards the world of fitness/strength and conditioning with his ongoing pursuits in academia as a graduate student in biomechanics of human movement. Within his unique combination of skills, Jordan now plans to expand his training and coaching services within a diverse market of athletes, young & old, early childhood development and adult health concerns as well as share his particular interest in overcoming back injury and preventative measures, whilst also helping the public deal with the issue of obesity.

Jordan Collins is currently a featured writer for the DMC™ E-Zine and Renegade Kettlebell Professional™, as well as holding DMC™ classes within the Southeast region of the United States. Perhaps his greatest endeavor would be the start up of his “Career Creation” program within Renegade Training International. Whilst in an economic recession resides, with a collapsing job market, Jordan has taken it upon himself to reverse the trend of unemployment and provide a job market for a number of new up and coming training professionals both currently and recently graduated from the university ranks.

As a lifelong "sport" enthusiast, Jordan has always loved the sacred game of 'soccer' but in the last few years, he has seen the Beautiful Game from a different vantage. Within Jordan's model of training, not only will the Boston Institute of Soccer improve play making, increase pace and vision, and maximize ball strike accuracy and power…but BIS provides the student-athlete with an understanding of life-morals and honour.

From a simple game with a round ball is born a community that unites all of humankind.
